Experience Zizkov - a place unlike any other

A few words about Zizkov

Zizkov was one of the largest Czech cities at the end of the 19th century. It only joined Prague in 1922, which many villagers at the time did not like. It is currently located in Prague 3 and is bordered by Vinohradská Street, Jiřího z Poděbrad square, and the foot of Vitkov and Jarov hills.

Previously Zizkov was full of pubs, where you could sit with legendary figures such as, Vlasta Burian, Jaroslav Hasek or, composer Jaroslav Jezek. Even today, you'll meet interesting characters, though they're not called artists or misfits anymore, but simply hipsters.

Those classic Czech pubs are still there, to which modern cafes and restaurants with the most popular world cuisines were added. Have you tasted Asian, Mexican, or maybe some of the European cuisines? Zizkov has it all. And if you can't find your dream restaurant in Zizkov, you definitely will in the neighboring districts Karlin or Vinohrady.

Zizkov is part Paris' Montmartre district, part workers' district, where Jan Zizka used to live. You can still feel the district's pride in Jan Zizka, who famously defeated invading crusaders on Vitkov hill.

All this togther creates Zizkov's unique spirit. Zizkov is just a little different from the other districts of Prague, primarily on that basis.
